With all the elections going on and upcoming for the Green Party in Canada, I suppose its good to remind ourselves what we mean by democracy.
When I did some research, I found this video that talks about what democracy is from the perspective of 1945.
The irony in this video is palpable. The first 5 members to identify what is so ironic about this video will be sent and authentic “I’m a Greener Green” button.

NOBODY could accuse bankers of suddenly becoming sandal-wearing eco warriors who recycle their newspapers and feed a compost bin with potato peelings.
But there is a move among the pin-striped folk who staff our banks to go green.
AIB announced recently that it would reward customers with up to €2,000 in cash for playing their part in helping the environment.
The bank said that from July, new and existing AIB customers can claim cash back if they opt for one of AIB’s new Green Line initiatives.
An angry Nova Scotia Tory Premier is urging the two remaining Conservative MPs from his province to vote against the Harper government’s budget because of a fight over oil money.
Premier Rodney MacDonald also called on Nova Scotia’s senators to try to hold up the budget bill in the Senate if it passes the House of Commons.
In an interview that highlighted a growing rift in the Tory political family in Atlantic Canada, Mr. MacDonald said Sunday that Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty “has turned his back on Nova Scotians, and our quiet talks are about to get a whole lot louder.”
