Hello everyone,
I mis-spoke - When referring to participating in the founding of the Green Party in Quebec - I said 2003 - I meant to say 1983!

What would your response be as leader of the Green Party of British Columbia to the ‘open letter’ to not run a candidate in Saanich and the Islands? Do you agree with Christopher Ian Bennett’s response?

The big picture is doing all we can to save our planet. The sad truth is, that as long as the Greens are the only ones who are asked to bow out, no one would - and the fact that Bryony is running for the Liberals shows what type of self perpetuating circular thinking we all engage in to try to get our voices heard. I don’t know Bryony very well, but if she is as dedicated as people seem to think she is to the cause, then she would walk the floor if the Liberals don’t do as they say - or if they don’t say enough. She could create her own little Green Party spot in the House that way. Provided she is elected. If the Conservatives are as overpowering in her riding as people think they are, she should perhaps chosen to run for the Coservatives - this is, if labels are truly meaningless and the only consideration is to get elected - the bottom line is: our electoral system has to change. It sucks! It’s unfair! It’s so twisted, it skews everything good and twists good people out of shape.

I think you’ve hit it on the head… if you’re going to change your stripes, might as well change them to one that helps you get a kill.
I’ve thought of running for the conservatives back a few years ago, but I found the prospect … well… unappetizing.
