Hi All:

Just wanted to let everyone know that someone using the dayleturner@rogers.ca has spammed a list I’m on where he absolutely TRASHES our Members of Parliament.  Now, I’m good friends with a number of current and past Members of Parliament and I feel that this attack is cowardly (the person didn’t even sign their own name), negative, fearmongering and completely antithetical to the Green campaign style.

As Greens we focus on the facts, offer solutions and have faith enough that people will do the right thing if given the opportunity to do so. 

Under no circumstances do we attack the person.

Whoever penned this missive ought to be ashamed of themselves: to damage the credibility of our elected officials without cause or proof is despicable and damages the very institution that we hold dear.

Please disregard his e-mail, call your MP and tell him or her that they’re doing a great job, regardless if they are of your party or not.

Can you imagine working for a company that has just over  300 employees and the following statistics?
30 have been accused of spousal abuse
9 have been arrested for fraud
14 have been accused of writing bad cheques
95 have directly or indirectly bankrupted their businesses at least once
4 have actually done time for assault
55 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
12 have been arrested on drug related charges
4 have been arrested for shoplifting
16 are currently defendants in lawsuits
62 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year

Can you guess which organization this is……..?
 
ANSWER:

It is the 301 MP’s in our Canadian Parliament -
ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES.
The same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws designed to keep the rest of us in line.
 
Which one did YOU vote for?
(TAKEN FROM THE OTTAWA CITIZEN newspaper).
 
As incredible as that seems, sadly, as a Canadian citizen, I am NOT even SURPRISED!
However, I did NOT vote for ANY of them. 
Too bad we can’t just throw them ALL out of office…and start fresh.
Oh wait! ——–>    We CAN!!!  
We can vote for ANYBODY else.
For example…
the GREEN PARTY.
The most intelligent, innovative, most committed, ethical group of people we could ever HOPE for, to run our government.
So, why is it that we keep electing the WORST possible politicians over and over again?
Just ask yourself that question, the next time you are all alone behind that screen, with your conscience, and your ballot.  With the opportunity to CHOOSE.
The right to fire the ones in charge now…..
And the right to HIRE a completely NEW staff.
If I keep voting for the same thing, every time, who can I blame when we get the same old politics?
And if I make a conscious decision THIS time, to vote differently, for the right platform, and vote with my heart and soul instead of just pinching my nose and closing my eyes before marking the “X”.
Then maybe, just maybe, this planet has a chance!
Before you vote in the next election,  make a conscious decision to choose a CHANGE for the better. 
Our lives, our future, our children’s future, and the future of this planet might depend on it too.
Think about it.
